Measurements of oxygen permeation through dense composite membranes showed a considerable influence of processing conditions on the surface exchange kinetics, while the bulk ambipolar conductivity is almost unaffected by microstructural factors. Compared to the materials prepared via the glycine–nitrate process (GNP), the surface limitations to oxygen transport are significantly higher for dual-phase made of a commercial powder synthesized by spray pyrolysis. This difference in behavior may be related to compositional inhomogeneities in the grains of A-site deficient perovskite phase and an enhanced surface concentration of grain boundaries in the case of GNP-synthesized composite, which has also smaller grain size, slightly higher thermal expansion and lower total conductivity. No essential effects on Vickers hardness, varying in the range 6.3–6.5 GPa, were found. The deposition of porous catalyst layers onto the composite surface exposed to reducing environment leads to membrane decomposition. For the fabrication of tubular membranes, the cold isostatic pressing technique was, hence, combined with mechanical treatment to increase the specific surface area without incorporation of catalytically active components.  相似文献

The issue of p doping in nanostructured cagelike ZnO is investigated by state-of-the-art calculations. Our study is focused on one prototypical structure, namely, sodalite, for which we show that p-type doping is possible for elements of the V, VI, and VII columns of the periodic table. However, some dopants tend to form dimers, thus impairing the stability of this kind of doping. This difference of behavior is discussed, and two criteria are proposed to ensure stable p doping.  相似文献

Phase-shifted Bragg grating waveguides (PSBGWs) were formed in bulk fused silica glass by femtosecond laser direct writing to produce narrowband (22±3) pm filters at 1550 nm. Tunable π and other phase shifts generated narrow passbands in controlled positions of the Bragg stopband, while the accurate placement of multiple cascaded phase-shift regions yielded a rectangular-shaped bandpass filter. A waveguide birefringence of (7.5±0.3)×10(-5) is inferred from the polarization-induced spectral shifting of the PSBGW narrowband filters.  相似文献

Following previous reviews of research results on oxygen ion-conducting materials obtained in the former USSR, this article addresses the case of Bi2O3-based compositions. Phase formation in oxide systems with Bi2O3, thermal expansion, stability, bulk transport properties and oxygen exchange of bismuth oxide solid electrolytes are briefly discussed. Primary attention is focused on oxides with high ionic and mixed conductivity, including stabilized fluorite-type (δ) and sillenite (γ) phases of Bi2O3, γ-Bi4V2O11 and other compounds of the aurivillius series. Another major point being addressed is on the applicability of these materials in high-temperature electrochemical cells, which is limited by numerous specific disadvantages of Bi2O3-based ceramics. This review is focused on the analysis of experimental results on oxygen ion-conducting ceramic materials based on HfO2, CeO2, and ThO2, published in the former Soviet Union. In particular, the physicochemical and transport properties of fluorite-related oxides and the characteristics of electronic conduction in these solid electrolytes are briefly reviewed. Emphasis is given to electrocatalytic and electrochemical properties of cerium-containing oxides, which are promising materials for electrodes of electrochemical cells operating in reducing atmospheres, and mixed-conducting membranes. A comparative analysis of specific features of the solid-electrolyte ceramics based on hafnia, zirconia, ceria, and thoria is performed in order to reveal basic tendencies of oxygen ionic transport in fluorite-type oxides, and to identify the potential applicability of these materials in various high-temperature electrochemical devices. This paper focuses on the design of an irrigation network included in a public project to build a distributing water system for agricultural purposes. We begin by outlining the issue. We then present a procedure composed of three sequential modules to tackle this complex problem. The first module provides the design of the network links by heuristically constructing a short length Steiner forest. In the second module, the flows for every arc of this network are calculated. The last one determines the size of the pipes and pumps by solving a mixed binary linear programming problem. A real experiment is reported. Although further improvements are required, the results confirm the adaptability of the overall procedure to assist agricultural engineers in preparing their projects.  相似文献

Oxygen ion conduction in La0.9Sr0.1Ga1−xMxO3−δ (M=Cr, Fe; x=0 – 0.20), LaGa1−xMxO3−δ (M=Co, Ni; x=0.20 – 0.60), LaGa1−x−yCoxMgyO3−δ (x=0.35 – 0.60; y=0.10 – 0.25) and LaGa0.85−xMg0.15(Nb0.33Mg0.66)xO3−δ (x=0 – 0.20) is reported. At temperatures below 1200 K the ionic conductivity of La(Ga,M)O3−δ (M=Co, Ni) increases with increasing oxygen nonstoichiometry, but is lower than for La(Ga,Mg)O3−δ and (La,Sr)GaO3−δ. Co-doping with Nb and Mg was found to result in decreasing ionic transport in La(Ga,Nb,Mg)O3−δ due to blocking of oxygen sites by Nb5+. Small additions of Fe to the B-site of La0.9Sr0.1GaO3−δ increase the ionic conductivity, whereas substitution of Cr for Ga has the opposite effect. Incorporation of transition metal cations into the Ga site leads to a higher p-type electronic conductivity in all studied perovskites. α-Diimine Ni complexes (7, 8) were used as catalyst precursors with MAO in co- and terpolymerization of ethylene/propylene/α-olefins with OH and COOH functional groups. Trimethylaluminium was used to protect the functional group of polar monomers. The presence of 5-hexen-1-ol seems to have no effect on the polymerization rate at all for the N,N′-bis(2,6-diisopropylphenyl) derivative 8 but caused activity decreases of about fivefold in copolymerization and around two times in terpolymerization for the N,N-dimesityl derivative 7. The effect levels off at higher polar comonomer concentration. This system, (7)/MAO, also incorporates well both 10-undecen-1-ol and 10-undecen-1-oic acid. The activities obtained with these α-diimine Ni complexes in co- and terpolymerization are three to twenty times higher than those obtained with group 4 Cp based complexes especially at concentrations of polar monomer in the feed higher than 80 mM. © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
